BMG Music's shipping and handling charges are fairly clear cut. Aside from being slightly difficult to find in the BMG Help section, the charges are quite straight forward. The cost per disc on any shipment, whether it's for the initial order or any subsequent one, is $2.79 per CD.
Let's me give you the math then. The initial order of 7 free CD's charged shipping and handling 7 times. The total expense would then be $19.53. Now, let's calculate the total cost for the regularly priced required purchase. If you purchase the CD at $17.98 and $2.97 is added on for shipping, the total would be $20.97.
Now,
I am going to repeat what I've included on the Free Stuff page:
Let's calculate the per disc cost of a 3-for-the-price-of-1 purchase.
If you pay $17.98 for the cost of 1 CD, plus you add in $8.37 ($2.97
x 3) for the S & H of the 3 CD's, your total cost would be $26.98.
However, if you tack on another $1.69 for sales tax (this, of course
varies depending on your state's sales tax rate), your grand total
cost would be $28.04. That averages out to $9.34. Not bad compared
to regular store prices. And you didn't even have to waste any gas.
Now, that we've discussed the cost of shipping, let's talk about one way the club incentives you to remain a member. That way happens to be how a member can earn and use . . .
